Cognos Reports Developer

Report and Extract Development (Intermediate Report Developer)
Develop, enhance, and maintain reports (ad hoc and/or production) and/or cubes, including report design work and prototyping, using appropriate FSSA tools.
Execute all tasks conforming to shop techniques, standards, policies and procedures.
Team members will use various tools which could include IBM Cognos (Analysis Studio, Event Studio, Query Studio, Report Studio, Transformer, Data Stage, and SQL); SQL; MSOffice; etc.
Assist in devising or modifying procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, data structures, and desired results; to obtain maximum report performance.
Serve as a general program knowledge consultant, conferring with users (customers, who are in the FSSA Divisions) to formulate and define data and report development.
Use various databases and datasets which could include the Social Services Data Warehouse (SSDW).
Prepare detailed specifications from which reports will be written.
Monitor report development to ensure proper execution.
Perform verification and testing (coding, debugging) on queries, cubes, and reports, recommending solutions that assure quality improvement.
Assist, train the work of less experienced developers and/or application system analyst staff; and assist with development of difficult and highly complex report development.
