Job Description:
The posting covers 1 position for PMO projects, 1 for TSDS projects, and 1 to be shared between PMO, Multi-Apps, and TSDS.

On TSDS, the contractors are needed to take on work from FTEs who have left the agency and to help with new work needed for PDS 4.x. Primarily, this work will be in the form of helping to maintain PEIMS reports to keep up with legislative changes, helping to update existing documentation to accommodate new ODS 4.x data standards, and picking up maintenance work on existing TSDS applications and utilities.

On Multi-Apps, the BA will take over responsibilities for projects that are currently underserved by our existing diminished staff. This will free our current staff to focus on larger and more challenging projects.

On PMO, the BAs' work will focus on filling gaps from FTEs who left the agency, especially on FSP, ECOS, and eGants, updating and maintaining requirements. The BA will also take over the BA responsibility for RAD initiatives (including SSES and SSSP data collection) as well as AskTED public portal revamp initiative as needed.

The Senior Business Analyst works on applications that serve teachers and school districts, gather student and school data, manage funding, and provide compliance oversight (such as the Texas Student Data System, Foundation School Funding, and Educator Certification) for all Texas public schools. These applications help TEA improve outcomes for all of Texas' 5 million plus students. The analyst serves as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team. The analyst also supports projects through the software development life cycle, to support the agency initiatives by:

·      Reviewing, assessing, and developing business processes

·      Assisting with user acceptance testing

·      Implementing post-implementation support of systems

·      Providing research and special project support to users.

Required skills:

·      Deriving requirements from interviews with customers and creating system requirements documents.

·      System Analysis and Design (including mockups and/or wireframes)

·      Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

·      Business Process Re-engineering

·      Development of user stories and use cases

Preferred skills:

·      Strong communication, organization, and facilitation skills

·      Business Process Development Experience with Azure DevOps or Modern Requirements Experience with Atlassian Jira

·      Prior experience or familiarity with TEA applications and programs

·      Prior employment at a Texas public school district
