Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all VCE Internal resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
Create, change, and delete user accounts per request
Provide support per request from various constituencies
Investigate and troubleshoot issues
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures
Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
Practical hands-on experience implementing, administrating and troubleshooting common TCP / IP based services, including NTP, DNS, SSL, SSH, services, etc
Perform preventative maintenance (and upgrade, as required) on Linux Operating Systems and related peripherals to meet IT specifications
Provides technical expertise in cross-functional and intra-departmental efforts.
Identify system performance issues and drive the development of tools to correct
Ensure that the technical environment is properly monitored and that any problems are rectified
Performs diagnostic testing on network systems and infrastructure problems
Coordinate all hardware and software problems or repairs channeled through outside vendors and service providers
Performs configuration, testing, and change control documentation of enterprise systems and network infrastructure platforms
Perform systems/software administration, backup/recovery monitoring, problem resolution, and change management
Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
Required 7+ years' experience as a systems administrator or server engineer in a large single site or multiple site Enterprise IT or managed services organization
